Covered Services & Eligibility

BadgerCare+ is Wisconsin’s public health insurance program. It is available to children up to age 19, parents and caretakers, and pregnant women.

Covered services include:   

  • Preventive services including doctor visits, prenatal care, checkups and shots (immunizations)
  • Dental and vision services
  • Inpatient and outpatient hospital services
  • Medical supplies and equipment
  • Prescription drugs
  • Laboratory and x-ray services
  • Mental health services
  • Family planning services and supplies
  • Speech, physical and occupational therapy
  • Hearing services (including hearing aids)
  • Emergency room visits
  • Prenatal and maternity care

Factors to determine eligibility include:

  • Wisconsin residency
  • U.S. citizenship or immigration status
  • Presence of minor child
  • Income (see Federal Poverty Level table for income limits)
  • Access to employer health insurance
