Covered Services & Eligibility
BadgerCare+ is Wisconsin’s public health insurance program. It is available to children up to age 19, parents and caretakers, and pregnant women.
Covered services include:
- Preventive services including doctor visits, prenatal care, checkups and shots (immunizations)
- Dental and vision services
- Inpatient and outpatient hospital services
- Medical supplies and equipment
- Prescription drugs
- Laboratory and x-ray services
- Mental health services
- Family planning services and supplies
- Speech, physical and occupational therapy
- Hearing services (including hearing aids)
- Emergency room visits
- Prenatal and maternity care
Factors to determine eligibility include:
- Wisconsin residency
- U.S. citizenship or immigration status
- Presence of minor child
- Income (see Federal Poverty Level table for income limits)
- Access to employer health insurance
